LIBÉRICA presents ALÉ (Iberian Chants)
Bassist Manel Fortià (www.manelfortia.com) presents a new album with his most innovative and original project, Libérica, that makes an approach to iberian folk music from a new fresh point of view. After the joy obtained with the previous album, the band has been able to play with great audience success at such emblematic stages as the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, Lantaren Venster in Rotterdam, Vitoria Jazz Festival, Castello Sforzzezzo in Milan, Budapest Music Center, Unterfahrt in Munich…
Now, after all this experience and knoweldge, they release their new album, a tribute to free chants and work songs from both the north and the south and the strong connections that exist in the Iberian Peninsula, always looking for common points between the traditional Catalan songs and flamenco.
This new album features the outstanding collaborations of the Valencian singer Carles Dénia and the Andalusian singer and saxophonist Antonio Lizana, two great references in the mix of traditional music and jazz. The great main voice of Pere Martínez acts as a common link between them. We also can enjoy the trumpet and the voice of the wonderful Alba Careta and the saxophone of the talented Aina López, a great representation of the new young generation of female musicians.
